DE CUSTEN VAN LAPLANDT 1676Theunisz Jacobsz (c. 1597-1650) who resided in Amsterdam and specialised in seafaring maps assigned himself another surname of Lootsman (in English a navigating officer) in order to be distinguished from a whole host of publishers named Jacobsz. Many of the Theunisz maps where only published after his relatively early demise. The business was carried on by his sons Caspar and Jacob and his widow. They also published a rare seafaring guide named "The Lightning Columne or Sea-Mirrour". One of the chart sheets of the Guide is divided into three sections: one section depicts the Russian coast from the Kola fjord to the White Sea and the second section the Kildini Island near the estuary of the Kola fjord, with the third displaying the Kola fjord through to the town of Kola.
