Pullinki

On the Pullinki fell the party involved, Outhier, Hellant and six soldiers were worst troubled by the mosquitoes. On the fell there grew a large spruce copse and Outhier had it cut down in order to be able to build the aiming device.

Pullinki - 18th July 1736
The gnats tormented us here more than any where before : besides these, the air was full of extremely small flies, whose stings drew blood. In order to eat our bread, for we had nothing else, we were obliged to be very quick in passing our hand under the veils which covered our faces; without this precaution we should have been covered with blood by their stinging, and have swallowed as many as them as crumbs of bread. (Outhier, Journal of a voyage to the north 1736-1737, p. 281)
