Nätti-Jussi
Nätti-Jussi was the best lumberjack of all – the king of the transient labourers. Juho Vihtori Nätti (1890-1964) became renowned throughout the Province of Lapland as a skilful and masterful storyteller. Nätti-Jussi is also a lumberjack of mythic proportions, a legend in his own lifetime. His innumerable tales are characterized by the high-flying imagination of a skilled folk artist. The accounts he told, born from the isolation of the logging camps, are fine pearls of the lumberjack culture.
