Korvatunturi
Korvatunturi is a fell rising 483 metres on the eastern border of Finland in the municipality of Savukoski. There are three peaks on the fell, and the Russian border proceeds along the most centrally located one. Korvatunturi Fell is situated in the frontier zone, so it is not possible to visit without the permission of the frontier guard service.
Korvatunturi is also a mythical place where Santa Claus is said to live. The myth got its start when ’Uncle Markus’, who hosted a children’s Finnish radio programme, announced in his show that Santa lives on Korvatunturi Fell. Korvatunturi also has its own own post office, FI-99999 Korvatunturi, though the mail actually proceeds through Rovaniemi. itse Napapiirillä sijaitsevaan Joulupukin pääpostiin.
Santa’s Main Post Office is located at the Arctic Circle.
