Culture pictures of Lapland: PEOPLE IN LAPLAND / TRAVELLERS IN LAPLAND
Eight Lappish cultural facilities: The Provincial Museum of Lapland, Rovaniemi Art Museum, Tornio River Valley Provincial Museum, Gold Museum, Rovaniemi City Library, Tornio City Library, Pello Municipal Library and University of Lapland/ the Arctic Centre were awarded a grant for the illustrated Northern Culture partnership project during the years 1999-2001. They grounded Lapinkävijät / Travellers in Lapland as a joint address for the culture web-pages of Lapland.
Participating bodies are and have been involved in producing the Travellers in Lapland multimedia presentation by independently selecting and working on their own theme, material and scriptwriting.
In the year 2015 these multimedia web-pages got a new title: Culture pictures of Lapland and contents of it were organized into two items: People in Lapland and Travellers in Lapland. From now on People in Lapland contains of works of the local authors who live or have lived in Lapland. Travellers in Lapland is, as the name tells, for those who have travelled in Lapland and have published interesting cultural material about this region.
Culture pictures of Lapland gets new items in cultural projects of the Lappish cultural facilities.
