The costumes of the forest-dwellers

The savages who live in the forests dress in the precious furs of various predatory animals, but not out of a craving for ornamentation but rather necessity. In the picture above, a man dressed in a fur who has a tail is seen. The picture must be understood by reference to the fact that the parents dress the young and boys in the pelts of dried animals, particularly young bears. These are not given to them out of viciousness but rather to observe old, simple and innocent habits.
